Dressing for Outdoor Fun

The Right Clothes

We recommend a warm jacket, ski pants, warm sweater or fleece, insulated mittens (no knitted mittens for children), heavy winter socks, goggles, a neck gaiter (not a scarf) and a hat that covers the ears.  Do not use loose clothing that can get caught on the lifts.  For children, as well as adults, the best way to stay warm is to dress in layers.

Ski Boots that Fit

Check the fit of your child’s boot before skiing.  Here’s how:  Pull the boot’s inner lining and slip it on your child’s foot.  It should fit like a walking shoe, without pinching (which can lead to cold feet) or, if it’s too loose, the boot could fall off.  The clothing items above can be purchased at the Devil’s Head Pro Shop.
